Hi, I'm Lindsay! I'm an architect building my own hillside home in Los Angeles.

When my husband and I decided to build in LA, we were disappointed to find a lack of resources to help guide us through the process. We knew our idea to build vs. buy was ambitious, having heard many cautionary tales of Los Angeles's grueling and cumbersome permitting process (not to mention the challenges of construction itself). Over the past 10 years, I've seen many projects through completion, but this is the first time I've gotten to experience the owner's point of view from start to finish.

We decided to document our journey, step-by-step, to help those who are interested in embarking on their own house-build - offering both an architect's and a homeowner's perspective.
